Michael Anderson founded Reliance Mortgage Company, Inc. in 1989 with 5 employees. He has worked as a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator ever since. In 1993, Mike directed the company in the origination of over $400 million in home mortgages. Today, Reliance Mortgages has closed over $8 billion under his direction.
What separates Mike from other owners is the fact he remains active in originating mortgage loans. He has been the top originator at Reliance every year, competing with as many as 80 full time Residential Mortgage Loan Originators. Mike specializes in jumbo loans and out of the box loans, many times using his many sources to close difficult loans that, without his expertise, would not have closed. He has made every type of loan imaginable, ranging from $35,000 to $11,500,000.
Mike received the Century 21 Top Listing Sales Person in a three-state region from 1971-1981 and was named the 1995 Prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year by INC. Magazine. He was listed in the Who’s Who American Businessmen of 2000, and was recently approved to teach Texas Real Estate Commission continuing education classes for realtors.
For 16 years, Mike hosted the “Reliance Mortgage Real Estate Hour” broadcast show weekly on CBS Radio. Mike has also been a frequent guest speaker on other talk radio programs, hosting on many occasions.

Sandy Wilson has over 15 years' experience with residential mortgage loans, spending the last 6 years processing Reverse Mortgage loans. He attends conferences to remain up to date on all proper guidelines to ensure he knows how to match every client’s individual needs. Making sure that every client is kept up to date at all times is only part of his job. Sandy makes sure that each client has taken the counseling course required for reverse mortgage loans and makes sure all processing and underwriting guidelines are met. He processes all reverse mortgage loans that come into the office and guides them smoothly from the start of the loan to the closing of the loan.

Laura Grant has over 10 years experience processing residential mortgage loans. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and operation of processing, she continues to remain ahead of the competitors with regards to understanding and learning all new lender guidelines and regulations. Laura excels at essentially pre-underwriting a mortgage loan to ensure as smooth a loan process as possible in today’s trying market. She focuses on maintaining excellent customer service for loan process from start to finish by keeping the customer up to speed on the status or items needed. She manages all post closing duties, ie ordering wires and compliance review. Laura maintains a pipeline between 40-50+ files, while coordinating with loan officers, real estate agents, underwriting, and closing to ensure efficient and timely fundings. She also teaches the Loan Officers new guidelines and programs and trains and mentors the staff. Laura enjoys spending her free time with her husband, 3 kids and family.
After graduating at the top of his class with a degree in business management and economics from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, Cody found himself a job as Mike's assistant shortly after obtaining his mortgage loan originator license. His likable personality and overall comprehension of the industry makes him the ideal loan officer. He still helps Mike out and oversees day to day operations as well.
Wade has been in the mortgage business for 10 years. Previously he was in the technology outsourcing business for most of his career. Wade moved to Texas from Milwaukee in 1990 after moving 5 times in 6 years, so he can definitely empathize with his clients purchasing a home. Originally from the Kansas City area, he grew up on a farm in eastern Kansas and learned old fashioned work ethics at an early age. Assisting people with difficult circumstances are his specialty. If a mortgage can get done, he’ll figure out a way to do it. Wade is married and has a grown son and daughter, and 2 granddaughters. Wade is available 24/7 and works hard for his clients. His cell phone is his primary work phone.
Derek grew up in Katy, Texas and graduated with Honors from Texas State University with a degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry. After moving to Dallas, he began his career as a licensed Realtor with the largest independent broker in Texas before obtaining his license as a Mortgage Loan Originator. Derek’s knowledge of contracts, his close connections with the title industry and corporate relocation, and his detail-oriented science background help him provide a low-stress experience for his clients. Derek’s responsibilities at Reliance include originating hard money loans and coordinating the transaction from application to closing, as well as working closely with Mike to assist our clients with interim construction loans for those building a new home or renovating an existing home.
